Preventive Dental Hygiene
Oral Examinations
Regular oral exams, ideally twice a year, allow your dentist to identify any oral health problems and recommend treatment options.
Your dentist will assess the health of your teeth, gums and oral cavity. Tests may also include X-rays and an oral cancer screening.
Dental Hygiene Cleaning
Regular dental cleanings are an essential part of maintaining good oral health. Before or after your exam, your dental hygienist will clean your teeth and gums to help prevent and treat any potential issues.
The process begins with the use of a scaler to remove tartar and plaque buildup. Next, your hygienist will polish your teeth with a coarse toothpaste, followed by a thorough flossing to ensure your teeth are completely clean.
