What is a Tooth Extraction?

A tooth extraction involves removing a tooth from its socket in the bone. At Centre Dentaire Ricard & Tran, our dentists will always evaluate all possible treatment options in an effort to keep your natural tooth.

Common reasons for pulling a tooth include excessive tooth damage and problematic wisdom teeth. Teeth are also sometimes pulled to prepare for other dental procedures. 

Wisdom Teeth Extractions

Wisdom teeth are the last set of molars to erupt in the back corners of a normal adult mouth, usually between 17 and 25 years of age.

Wisdom teeth are not always functional and can cause tooth movement by putting pressure on other teeth as they develop. They can also cause oral hygiene problems. In these cases, your dentist may recommend removing them.
